Born and bred in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and a natural supporter of Newcastle United, we moved to Blackburn for a career move of my father, a maths teacher. From College, thence to University in London where study and continued research in Physics at Imperial College, led to a career as a teacher of Physics. After a solid foundation, and the growth of a family, research in Education beckoned and a Ph.D. finally became realised. A second career at Surrey University, training teachers of Nursing and allied professions led to involvement with the Human Potential Reseach Project which I reconstituted after its founder moved on.
Early retirement allowed me to fully concentrate on staff development work with Metropolitan Police officers seconded as trainers. Full retirement brought a move to Cornwall where organic gardening and growing led naturally to beekeeping. The wheel turned full circle with the start of a new beekeeping course and development work in bee breeding. A second family side by side with grandchildren of the first family and great grandchildren should hopefully make true retirement possible in due course and the completion of some unfinished writing, presented in these web pages.
Meanwhile, as I amend and develop web sites and continue my writing in fits and starts, I enjoy listening to Internet radio trance music in Amarok music player in Kubuntu. I have to admit being pasionate about Linux now, with its community of developers and helpers and the freedom it gives to me, the user. more about James
